Silent Tagging| on Facebook

Recently had been asked by friend about the term fan ladder and what does it refer to in the Facebook world.

Some of fan page owners have heard about it and some did not hear about it at all,

For those who aren’t familiar with this silent tagging or fan ladder idea, simply it is a way of quick increasing the number of likes that your fan page has. The idea is based on trading “likes” with other fan page owners.

What is silent tagging page??

A silent tagging page is a page which is specialized in doing silent tagging parties or let’s says silent tagging session.

Silent tagging or fan ladder starts by either an invitation from business page or an invitation from Silent tagging page.

Usually it starts by the tagging page posting to announce the start of a silent tagging session.





And then comes your role to join in the fun of silent tagging, all you have to do is to tag your fan page by typing the @then the name of your page. Once you have done this you start going throw the list of tags for fan pages of others , from the top of the list, hover your mouse over the name and a box comes up then you click on like. You don’t even have to leave the page just work yourself down the list and like all pages. After you “liked” the other fan pages , you need to then “like” the comment so you get credit, you should  like other pages from your personal profile not from the fan page.

By doing this, your likes numbers will score 50 likes in this time!!!

Positives:

·         Good for new page that needs 25 likes to gain Facebook URL.

·         Pages that need to increases the number of potential customers.

·         Facebook networking with other business page in same field.

Negatives:

·         A lot of people participate in the silent tagging without reading the rules carefully so they end up not gaining any likes.

·         Gaining a lot of fans may not result in new customers or actual referrals as there is no certain criterion for the target customers.

·          It brings a lot of empty likes, people who are not actually interests in your page and may unlike your page soon.

·         It also results in liking a lot of page who may not like you page back.

One more thing to add Facebook actually is not happy with the silent tagging tool, as it causes a lot of spamming comments, worst case scenario they could consider your site is spamming and shut you down. so it is better not to go crazy about it use it one a week .
